Terms of Service

1. Service Description

MC-Lore("the Service") is a web-based toolkit for Minecraft content creators to plan mysteries, lore, ARGs, and related projects. The Service provides project management, interactive maps, cipher generation, solve path visualization, collaboration features, and share links that allow you to make project data accessible to others.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are in the European Union, you must be at least 16 years old. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements. If we learn that a user does not meet these requirements, their account will be terminated.

4. User Accounts

You may create an account using Discord or email and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

When you sign in using Discord, we receive limited profile information (name, email, profile picture) from those providers, which is governed by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you invite team members to collaborate on a project, you are responsible for ensuring they are aware of and comply with these Terms. Each team member must have their own account.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create on the Service, including projects, pins, ciphers, alphabets, and any other data you input. By using the Service, you grant MC-Lore a limited license to host, store, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content you create. You must not use the Service to store or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

Share Links. The Service allows you to generate share links that make project data accessible to anyone with the link, including users without an account. By creating a share link, you acknowledge that the shared content will be viewable by anyone who has the link. You are responsible for managing and revoking share links.MC-Lore is not responsible for any use of your content by third parties who access it through a share link.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the collaboration or invite features to send unsolicited communications
  • Upload or link to malicious content, malware, or phishing pages
  • Circumvent usage limits, quotas, or access restrictions

7. Early Access

The Service is currently in Early Access. During this period, all features are available at no cost. Paid plans will be introduced in the future with advance notice. Early Access users who create accounts before paid plans launch will keep their Early Access pricing, even if prices increase later.

During Early Access, features may change, be added, or be removed without notice. The Service is under active development and may contain bugs or incomplete functionality.

8. Pricing & Payment

When paid plans are introduced, pricing and tier details will be communicated in advance. You will not be charged without explicit action on your part (choosing a plan, entering payment details). Free trials and billing terms will be clearly stated at that time.

9. Data Export & Portability

You may export your project data at any time in JSON or CSV format. The Service also supports importing data from CSV and JSON files. Your data is yours, and we do not lock it in.

10. Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MC-Lore and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to MC-Lore in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 50.

We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from technical failures, service interruptions, or account termination. We strongly encourage you to maintain your own backups using the export features provided.

12. Termination

You may delete individual projects and export your data at any time. Full account deletion can be requested by contacting us at [email protected], and will be processed within 30 days. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MC-Lore and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your content, or (d) your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France. If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in this clause affects your right to rely on mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident, or to bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

MC-Loreis not an official Minecraft product. It is not approved by or associated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Studios. All Minecraft-related content, names, and references are used for informational and interoperability purposes only.
